Sleep...who needs it?!?!

Three weeks has flown by and I now have almost a one month old and a 19 month old. Somebody must call me to make sure I am still breathing or at least have my sanity. Surprisingly enough the days have not been that bad. Managing the day time tasks are not too challenging since all Cohen does is eat, sleep, and poop. Oh and some crying here and there. It's the night time that is really tough for me. It's so hard not to set up expectations for your little one and so tempting to compare your first experience now with your second. I have found that both of these methods are only to my detriment. When you bring your first child home, you give yourself so much grace to get settled in and figure things out. You decide, it's ok to still be in your PJs at 3 pm and your teeth not brushed...but for some reason it is difficult to find that kind of grace for myself this time around. It's like you don't have the time to figure it out, you just have to continue on with life and hit the ground running. I am having to learn that the house does not have to be perfect (still working on that one), naps during the day are ok, and pjs at 3 pm are ok if done on occasion. I have really had to pray that I would glorify the Lord at all hours of the night and have to ask every night for patience and love for Cohen when he wakes me up every hour. The nights are when I feel emotionally the weakest. I can't tell you how many times I wake up and apologize to Cohen for not feeding him with a spirit of love. I know the Lord will give me exactly what I need but he will require me to make sacrifices. God is so good and I am so grateful for a healthy, beautiful baby boy and a sweet little girl, AND the most amazing husband in the world. I never have to ask him to change a diaper, help at night, get Addison ready for bed etc. He is always one step ahead of me and knows how to help me even before I ask. I love him so much and can't imagine a more loving, caring, and serving husband.

Here are some more pictures from the last 3 weeks.

  1. Awh! You're doing great! It all comes with time & one day you'll look back & hardly remember what it was like. (I know you know that already... but just a friendly reminder.) I can't imagine you not having a loving spirit... You're covered in God's grace. The pics are great! Thanks for sharing. Love you guys!
